Test conditions & context

Type Mold spore (conidia)
Medium Water
Test wavelength 254 nm
Particle size 4000 nm
Author Wan et al.
Year 2020

Konidien-Suspension (PBS), Niederdruck-Hg 254 nm. Mit UV-LED: 265 nm D90 28.5 mJ/cm2, 280 nm D90 27.1 mJ/cm2 — kürzere LED-Wellenlängen wirken bei A. niger effektiver als 254 nm. Nach Bestrahlung Reaktivierung möglich.

UV-C dose–response (D-values)

A D-value is the UV-C dose (in mJ/cm²) needed for a given log-reduction. D90 = 90 % inactivation = 1-log; D99 = 99 % = 2-log; D99.9 = 99.9 % = 3-log, and so on. Values come from the cited study under its specific test conditions.

Reduction log Dose (mJ/cm²)
D90 90 % 1-log 43.1 mJ/cm²

Morphology & UV-C resistance

Morphology class Mold spore (conidia)

Stark melanisierte schwarze Konidien — Melanin ist ein hochwirksamer UV-C-Absorber/Radikalfänger; A. niger zählt zu den UV-resistentesten Schimmelpilzen (~10–50× hyaline Arten).
