About the company
Nuvonic (formerly Orca GmbH, Kürten NRW) is a German premium mid-sized manufacturer for UV-C applications in industry, food processing, pharma and clinics. Founded 1998 by Dr. Michael Calenberg (microbiologist), acquired by Halma plc in 2021 and consolidated into the Nuvonic brand. Calenberg today is the chair of AG LUV e.V. (industry association for UV air disinfection) and co-chair of the DIN working group for DIN 67506 (UV-C secondary-air devices). Nuvonic has contributed substantially to the AG LUV Guideline 100 and DIN TS 67506 (2022) — both today the reference for UV-C device compliance in the DACH market.
