Founded 1976 by Jörg Wolff in Stuttgart as KOSMEDICO Sales of Cosmetic and Medical Lamps GmbH. Roots trace back to German inventor Friedrich Wolff (Jörg's brother), who in 1976 filed the patent for a Sunbed for Tanning without Sunburn-Risk. HQ Kölner Straße 8, 70376 Stuttgart-Münster (HRB 721876 Stuttgart commercial register, VAT ID DE812670194). Managing directors: Stefan Dressendörfer + Peter Verbeek. 50-year anniversary in 2026. JW Holding GmbH is today the parent; JW Sales GmbH (founded 2012) is the sales arm for Cosmedico. In 1976 Joerg Wolff founded "KOSMEDICO Sales of Cosmetic and Medical Lamps GmbH" in Stuttgart. Same year: brother Friedrich Wolff filed the patent for the "Sunbed for Tanning without Sunburn-Risk". Birth of the modern solarium/tanning industry. Later renamed Cosmedico, heritage as JW Holding GmbH.

Cosmedico Inc. USA + VHO technology (1986)
In 1986 Cosmedico founded the US subsidiary Cosmedico Inc. in New Jersey and introduced VHO (Very High Output) technology for tanning lamps — important milestone in US solarium market entry after first market pilot 1979/80.

In 2012 JW Holding GmbH founded JW Sales GmbH as dedicated sales arm for the Cosmedico brand. Simultaneously launched 10K100 premium range. Legally JW Sales GmbH is today's registrant of the Cosmedico brand, legal Cosmedico root entity as KOSMEDICO Sales GmbH was organizationally restructured.
