About the company
NARVA Lichtquellen GmbH + Co. KG is a German specialty-lamp manufacturer with the historical legacy of the GDR-era NARVA brand. Roots: 1948 incandescent-bulb factory in Plauen. In 1966 a fluorescent-lamp production line was started in brand-Erbisdorf (Saxony) as an external site of the Berlin bulb factory. In 1969 the bulb plants in Plauen, Oberweissbach and brand-Erbisdorf were merged into the NARVA Kombinat. In 1971 the company's own glassworks went into operation. After German reunification (1990) the brand-Erbisdorf production was re-established as NARVA Lichtquellen GmbH + Co. KG under private ownership. Today HQ at Erzstrasse 22, 09618 brand-Erbisdorf (Industriegebiet Nord, Mittelsachsen district). Cosmedico (Stuttgart, in this directory) acquired shares in 2000 and a majority in 2003 — since then NARVA has produced the Cosmedico low-pressure tanning lamp range. Today portfolio: UV lamps for the tanning industry (brands Cosmedico, iSOLde Licht, Wolff System), specialty low-pressure lamps, solar-thermal tubes, UV-C disinfection lamps. ISO certification in April 2024 for UV fluorescent lamp development/manufacturing/testing. Plauen is today the seat of the NARVA Warenzeichenverband e.V.
